Agenda

  1. Notes from previous meeting.

  2. Special meeting for collaborative editing of guidelines document
Google doc is at: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1SUy7O7hbEgTklQNmhWUEVSM2M (team members only)

    Action:
    • Good discussion as part of the collaborative editing
    • Suggestions was made to publish the guidelines in conjunction with a blog.
      • Additional material not included in the guidelines could be added as blog entries. (An alternative to adding it as an appendix.)
      • IT professionals could make additional blog entries to add their comments and advice.
      • Would need to be moderated.
      • Does not necessarily have to be a "blog". Other implementations are possible
      • Decided to wait until after our next meeting, at which we will discuss next steps.
        • Depending upon the follow up plan, we could ask for more specific advice on how to publish.
        • Laura and Gary will follow up in March, and discuss it with someone fom the UX (user experience) group.
    • Gary will serve a primary editor.
      • Laura has already done some of it, and has sent that material to Gary.
      • Gary will edit over the weekend, then Laura and Gary will pass it back and forth a bit. (Better to have two sets of eyes on it.)
      • Team will review the "next to final draft" at our March meeting, make changes, etc.
        • The draft will be distributed a week ahead of time so the team has a chance to review it prior to the meeting.

  3. Next steps

    Action:
    • For next meeting (Mar):
      • NOTE: The Mar meeting is our last scheduled meeting.
      • Review what we have so far, and decide what to do next.

Ground Rules (draft)

  1. Everyone must be treated respectfully, whether present or not.
  2. Everyone present who wants to speak on a topic must have a chance to speak.
  3. Attend more often than not, and review materials when you can't attend.
  4. Don't be shy, or worry about perception of an idea - we need open borders for these discussions.
  5. Let's park side issues or extensive detail for future work by this team, or others.
